# HER STAGE FESTIVAL by ArT PLATFORMA & TEATR FORMA
HER STAGE FESTIVAL is a female-led theatre festival presenting three productions by TEATR FORMA: 8 Women, Three Sisters and Medea.
Created by Juliana Berezhnaya, theatre, film and opera directress, and co-led with Eleonora Shafran, associate directress and lead actress of TEATR FORMA, the festival brings female stories, female voices and bold theatrical visions to the stage.
This August, we present three powerful performances reimagined through a contemporary female gaze:
8 Women — a suspenseful family mystery where festive elegance hides secrets, jealousy and desire.
Three Sisters — Chekhov’s world on the edge of collapse, where women dream, wait and resist.
Medea — a ritualistic physical drama about love, betrayal, rage and the choice to reclaim power.
# A week of theatre. A week of female stories. A week of powerful stage presence.
📍 1–8 August 2026
Theatre De Sloot, Amsterdam

HER STAGE FESTIVAL: Three Sisters
De Sloot, zekeringstraat, Amsterdam, NLTHREE SISTERS
ADAPTATION OF ANTON CHEKHOV
A bold modern adaptation of Chekhov’s classic play, reimagined through female voices, memory and inner resistance.## At the edge of time, in the last fragile years of the Russian Empire, three sisters dream of Moscow as if it were a promised land. Around them, history is quietly preparing its storms: revolutions, war, collapse. But before the world breaks, their own lives begin to break first — through waiting, lost love, family duty, and choices they are never fully allowed to make...
## More than a century later, their longing still feels painfully familiar. In times of global change, women’s lives often become especially vulnerable — caught between private dreams, social expectations, instability, and the lack of real choices.
Told by four actresses, Three Sisters places the female characters at the centre of the stage — their dreams, hopes, disappointments and invisible inner battles.
This adaptation opens Chekhov’s world through a contemporary female gaze — intimate, emotional and visually symbolic.# A story of waiting. Of choices not made. Of dreams that keep people alive.
Presented as part of HER STAGE Summer Festival.
