Peindre un pays : regards sur l’art en Tunisie

Cette présentation de Weriem propose un parcours à travers l’histoire des arts en Tunisie, des héritages anciens à l’émergence de la peinture moderne au XXᵉ siècle. À travers ce cheminement, nous poserons une question simple : comment un pays se représente-t-il à travers l’art ?

Weriem est une artiste franco-tunisienne, dont le travail minutieux s’inspire notamment des arts de la scène. Son travail a été présenté aux États-Unis et à l’international. Avant de se consacrer aux beaux-arts, elle a mené pendant dix ans une carrière de costumière pour l’opéra, après un doctorat en biologie à l’Université de Lille. Son travail a été salué, entre autres, par le Chicago Tribune, le Chicago Reader, The Wall Street Journal et The New York Times.
