Jeppestown is possibly Johannesburgs oldest suburb,
with many places of interest :

• the mosaics at Maboneng Precinct by artist H. Coetzee
• the Jooste & Bryants Building ( Victorian )
• the Jozi Mall - Somali shops
• old Jewish shops & homes
• the scene of 2008 xenophobic attacks
• the Anglican Church - Joburg's oldest building 1888
• locations used in the movie : Long Walk to Freedom
• traditional herbalist shops
• the oldest Lithuanian Shul in JHB : 1903 -1926
• scene of the Jeppestown massacre ; 2006
• the Jeppestown synagogue : 1926 - 2002
• the Salisbury building :1903
• the School of Practical Philosophy
• the Mentis Building ( Art Nouveau )
• St James School : 1904

We return to the Maboneng Precinct for lunch at any of
the many restaurants in the Maboneng Precinct
( lunch at your own expense )
