Prince George’s County, in partnership with Manhyia Palace and the Embassy of Ghana, brings Akwasidae USA 2026 to Maryland—a once-in-a-lifetime royal and cultural experience in the presence of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, the 16th King of the Asante Kingdom.

Experience the majesty, pageantry and centuries-old traditions of Asanteman—from the grand royal procession and magnificent regalia to powerful drumming, traditional dance and ceremonial traditions passed down through generations.
With Prince George’s County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy helping lead this historic celebration and Governor Wes Moore attending, this occasion reaches far beyond ceremony. It represents a growing relationship between Prince George’s County and the Asante Kingdom, rooted in cultural exchange, shared heritage and stronger connections between Africa and its global Diaspora.

More than a celebration, this is a rare moment of culture, royalty and connection between Africa and its global Diaspora—and the best part: it’s FREE with RSVP.
