About us

Grief is not a project to be completed. There is no finishing it, and there is no schedule you are behind on.

This is a group for widowed women who want to be around others who understand that. Some members lost their husbands recently. Some lost them years ago and are still finding new corners of it. Everyone is welcome, and no one is asked to be further along than she is.

We meet to talk, to sit with each other, and to be somewhere your loss does not have to be explained or managed.

Jamie McGarity and Nicole Milone join us as well, mostly just to be here and listen. Nicole has walked a lot of women through the financial side of losing a husband, or a loved one, so when someone wants to ask about it, she can offer general guidance and help make a confusing pile of things feel a little smaller. There is no pressure to bring it up. This is an open space first, and everything else is optional.

Bring whatever you are carrying. There is room for it.

A small group, a quiet space, and no agenda you have to keep up with.

Come as you are. Ask what you want to ask. Or just listen. Some evenings are heavy, some are surprisingly light, and quite a few are both. Recent gatherings have touched on the first anniversary, the friends who drifted away, and what to do with his things.
