About us
Welcome to After the Credits! ๐ฌ It's the place for people who love movies โ and love talking about them even more.
After the Credits is a Toronto-based film club bringing together people who enjoy discovering interesting films, exchanging perspectives, and connecting over cinema.
We focus primarily on independent, international, and lesser-known films โ the kind you might not come across at your local multiplex. But we're not particular about genres or eras. A good film and an interesting conversation are what matter most.
๐๏ธ What to expect
Our regular Film Club gatherings usually take place on Sundays, with around 10โ20 participants. We keep things informal and welcoming, with plenty of room for different opinions and interpretations.
A typical gathering looks something like this:
- Coffee & introductions: We start with a little time to grab a coffee, settle in, and meet fellow movie lovers.
- Film introduction: A short introduction to the film before the screening.
- The screening: We watch the film together.
- Coffee break & discussion: After a short break, we get together to share our impressions, questions, and interpretations.
The discussion is an essential part of the experience. You don't need any formal film education, an encyclopedic knowledge of cinema, or particularly sophisticated opinions. Curiosity is enough! We welcome different perspectives, including disagreements โ sometimes those lead to the most interesting conversations.
Beyond our regular Film Club, we also organize occasional casual outings to Toronto cinemas, film festivals, and special screenings.

๐ฟ A little about the club
I've been organizing film screenings and discussions for several years, and After the Credits grew out of that experience. We're now opening the doors to more Toronto movie lovers through Meetup.
Whether you're a dedicated cinephile or simply someone who enjoys a good movie and a thoughtful conversation, you're welcome here.
Come for the film. Stay for the conversation. ๐ฌ

A little something macabre for Halloween! ๐งโโ๏ธ (Please read the registration rules below!!!)
Join us for an afternoon of cinema, coffee, and conversation as we watch Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person (2023), a Canadian dark comedy with an unusual take on vampire mythology.
About the film
Sasha is a young vampire with a serious problem: she's too sensitive to kill. When her frustrated parents cut off her blood supply, she meets Paul, a lonely teenager who might just have a solution to her predicament.
Darkly funny, charming, and surprisingly tender, the film explores loneliness, empathy, and the difficulties of finding your place in the world.## ๐ฌ What to expect
After the Credits is a small, informal film club where watching the movie is only half the experience โ the other half is talking about it!
We usually gather around 10โ20 movie lovers for a screening followed by an open discussion. No film education or special knowledge is required. Whether you're a dedicated cinephile or simply curious about the movie, you're very welcome.
Here's how our afternoon usually unfolds:- Coffee & introductions: Arrive, grab a coffee, and get to know some fellow movie lovers.
- Film introduction: A brief introduction before we start the screening.
- Movie time! We watch the film together.
- Coffee break & discussion: After the screening, we take a short break before getting together to exchange impressions, interpretations, and questions.
There's no right or wrong way to interpret a film. Different perspectives are encouraged, and disagreement is always welcome!
