Details

Are you like me, trying to master the Art of Laziness? Do you shun pickleball, hiking, and other activities? Do you listen to audio books because reading requires too much eyeball movement?

Come to the Abbotsford Wildlife Festival and meet our hero and role model, the SLOTH!

There will also be other critters such as kangaroos, wallabies, snakes, tortoises, etc. As this event is scheduled for the Friday Night Adults Only period, the only wildlife there won't be is children.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Your ticket allows you to enter BEFORE the children are banished so I will probably arrive early and already be inside. (I already purchased my ticket.) We can meet up on the inside at 7 PM. I'll post a location once I'm there.

The general festival features the following:

There are 2 stage shows rotating every 45 minutes with animals available for petting and encounters in between.

The adults only period features a special adults-only show mixing education, trivia, comedy, and special experiences. Includes early admission for the general festival. (19+)

Here is a link to the festival with all of their information AND to purchase your ticket(s):

Warning: Although it is described as an interactive opportunity, there are add-on costs for photo opportunities with some animals. Their FAQ description is as follows:

"Some animals are available for petting and hands on opportunities. Throughout the day we offer paid photo opportunities with select animals as well as VIP experiences behind the scenes."

For example, to have a couple of minutes and a photo opportunity with the sloth is an extra $50. Baby Kangaroo or Boa Constrictor is an extra $25 each.

TICKET PURCHASING

When purchasing, make sure you select Abbotsford and not another city. There are 2 screens. On the first one, you must choose your admission. Remember to choose the Adults Only option (which is more expensive than general admission). If you want a photo opportunity with the sloth, you must select that at this point.

When you continue, the second screen appears offering photo ops with other animals. The cost of each seems to be an additional $10 or $25.

Cobb’s Exotic Animal Rescue is a non-profit division of Cobb’s Adventure Park (Alberta). Their FAQ on the proceeds of this event says: "100% of the proceeds goes towards the care and support of these animals."
