New West Quay and Pier Park Walks

Come join us for a walk and conversation, and meet other folks from New West and beyond!

New West Skytrain STN: Meet on the main floor ticket vending level by Safeway. We will leave at 6:00 pm SHARP.

Now that the section between the quay and Pier Park is open our route has changed slightly. We are avoiding some stairs that some of you had issues with. The route is approx 5.5km (45 min to 1 hour walk depending on how fast folks want to walk):

Starting point - the New West Station
- Through the NW station to the McGinness Overpass
- Down the hill to the Quay boardwalk.
- Along the Fraser River to the end of the boardwalk
- Loop back to the boardwalk (includes approx. 8 steps down here, but there is another option)
- Along the boardwalk to the Fraser River Discovery and through the new park that links the Quay to Pier Park
- Walk along the Pier Boardwalk
- Exiting Pier Park at 4th Street via the stairs or the elevator
- Walk along Columbia Street past Columbia Skytrain Station

Ending Point - New West Skytrain Station.

You can leave at any point along the way.

Optional - Depending on interest - WAVES is part way between Columbia and New West Stations, and we can always stop for something to drink and a chat until 7:55 pm as they close at 8:00.
