The Seeds of Organizational Culture: Power Distance

Details
In this session, we'll begin to dive full bore into culture and discovering what makes the people of an organization tick. We'll begin to look at the work of Professor Geert Hofstede and his Cultural Dimensions.
Hofstede defined “culture” as “the collective programming of the mind that distinguishes the members of one group or category of people from others.” In his research, he and his team identified six dimensions of national culture. This month, we'll look at the dimension of "Power Distance."
Power Distance expresses the degree to which the less powerful members of a society accept and expect that power is distributed unequally. The fundamental issue here is how a society handles inequalities among people.
