Having trouble figuring out the right amount of work to bring into your team’s workflow? Struggling to predict when work will be completed? Does it seem that no matter what story size you choose, everything takes about the same amount of time?
This session explores right-sizing: shaping work so it can be completed within a reasonable timeframe given the variability of your workflow. Using cycle time and Cycle Time Distribution (CTD) charts, we’ll explore how actual workflow data can guide sizing decisions and improve predictability.

We’ll examine how uncertainty, dependencies, wait times, and other factors affect delivery, and how right-sizing helps teams work with that variability. This approach can be especially valuable for AI and experimental work where complexity is difficult to gauge upfront.

You’ll leave with a practical, data-informed approach for improving flow and making more reliable delivery forecasts.
