Context

Working with teams and organisations is a human endeavour. As humans we learn and reflect best through story, imagery and metaphor. Whether or not you're religious in any way, the Bible is a foundational text for much of Western society, containing the origin of many of our core myths, narratives and beliefs. As such, if we’re looking for a rich source of discussion for important ideas and themes, the Bible is a great place to visit. Please attend with an open, curious mind.

Workshop 5: Moses and the Burning Bush

This story, of Moses being called into action by God fits the pattern of Joseph Conrad Hero's Journey, with the exception that Moses refuses the call not once, but five times, each time through a sense of his own inadequacy. Today, we might call this imposter syndrome, which many in the management and coaching fields will identify with. How did Moses get through this? What can we learn?

As always, we are not here to proselytise, nor to take the Bible literally or even historically, but to read it as a series of teaching stories, especially as applied to the corporate world.
