Prompting Health, Healing and Wholeness with AI
A Return to Human-Sized Teams
—
For decades, technology has allowed organizations to become bigger, more specialized, and more bureaucratic. AI may unexpectedly push us in the opposite direction.
Drawing on the work behind Questions Heal, this talk explores how conversational AI can help people ask better questions about health, healing, and wholeness while allowing remarkably small teams to tackle problems that once required entire organizations.
The opportunity is not simply to automate existing healthcare processes. It is to rethink what becomes possible when AI can listen, prompt, organize knowledge, and help people discover what they may already know but have never been asked.
Perhaps the most interesting consequence of AI will not be bigger organizations. It may be the return of the human-sized team. And perhaps, almost ironically, a return to the fundamental ideas of Scrum.

Bio
Tom Meloche is a computer engineer, entrepreneur, author, and longtime Agile practitioner. He co-founded Menlo Innovations and has spent more than 25 years helping organizations rethink how people work together, coaching hundreds of teams and training more than 20,000 people.
Today, Tom is CTO of Questions Heal, where he is exploring how AI, thoughtful prompting, and carefully designed conversational systems can help people better understand their health and themselves.
His work sits at the intersection of software engineering, complexity, organizational design, and a persistent question he has pursued throughout his career:
How small can the team be and still change the world?

Description of this series
Agile didn’t promise speed. It promised sustainability.
The original Agile Movement was never about pumping out code at breakneck speed. It was about building robust, adaptable software and creating healthier, human-centred workplaces. It promised autonomy, trust, and environments where people were empowered to make meaningful decisions.
For the most part, we missed that mark.
Over the last two decades, workers were subjected to micromanagement, rigid tools, and metric tracking. Managers, too, were trapped in a system few truly understood. While delivery pipelines improved, the human potential latent within our organisations remained largely untapped.
