One of the biggest success factors of establishing Scrum and Agile practices is instilling self-organization and collective ownership in your teams and departments. However, this is also one of the biggest challenges for many companies. Part of the problem is that self-organization is not a one-size-fits-all solution. We'll discuss three different types of less-hierarchical approaches with different benefits that might fit your organization. We'll also explore the common individual and organizational challenges we face in building less-hierarchical organizations.
