Agile Transformation: Success Stories

Agile transformation is a bumpy ride with a lot of inspiring success stories. The "how to" depends on the organization's needs and circumstances but the end goal is always to foster a more adaptive, customer-focused, and effective delivery of value while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

In the first talk, using the art of storytelling, Rita Melo will guide us on an expedition through the realm of Agile Transformation, by telling us the tale "Unlocking Agile Excellence: A Tale of Transformation and Triumph". In this story, a development team embarks on a transformative journey, analyzing the impact of a poorly executed Agile framework and sharing insights from warriors who drove successful implementation. Discover key moments that shaped this Agile Transformation story and gain valuable insights into Agile methodologies' impact on organizational evolution.

In the second part of our MeetUp, José Pedro Martins and Luiz Bernardo Junior will deliver a talk on "How we increased collaboration between IT and Business through Agile Transformation". In this session, the speakers will share the outcomes from a real Business Case implementation, as part of the ongoing Agile & DevOps Transformation program in BNP Paribas CIB2S IT. They will focus on the Team´s transformation journey experience, sharing the process adaptation, Stakeholders and management engagement, challenges, and lessons learned.”

Bio's:
Rita Melo - Having been involved in conceptualizing and delivering digital products since 2010, Rita has witnessed the evolution of the digital landscape, especially the shift from waterfall to more efficient delivery methodologies. Rita transitioned to agile frameworks as a Product Owner five years ago. She has contributed her expertise to the Telecom industry (Vodafone Portugal), and the Commodities sector (VAKT Global), and now joins the team at Diconium Portugal.

José Pedro Martins - Software Engineer, MSc Computer Engineering, working for BNP-CIB2S for the last 5 years, combining the roles of DS Technical Architect and RTO Project Lead. With an accumulated experience of almost 20 years of work in IT, in several sectors like retail, finance, public administration, and gaming. Shares (broken heart) a passion between Technology and People (and Water activities). Being focused on Agile Methodologies since 2010, currently holds a PMP, PMI-ACP and CSM Certifications and currently pursues the Disciplined Agile® Senior Scrum Master (DASSM) Certification.

Luiz Bernardo Júnior - Business Administration background from UFCG and Sociology of Work from ISCTE – IUL Lisbon, currently working as an ICP-ACC Certified professional Agile® Coach in BNP Paribas - CIB2S. Worked in several sectors like Insurance, Banking, and Telecom companies, with an accumulated experience of more than 15 years in different fields, such as Human Resources, Quality Assurance & Methodologies, IT Consulting and Business Management. Being focused on IT Project Management & Agile Methodologies since 2017. Motivated by supporting, mentoring, coaching, training, and facilitating the transformation journey of IT Teams.
