World-renowned expert, Scott Ambler, offers Agile advice for marketers

Our September event is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn from a renowned expert in the global Agile community: Scott Ambler (http://scottambler.com/page_about_saa_our_team.html).

Scott is an in-demand consultant, thought leader, trainer and author from Toronto. He helps business, marketing and IT teams around the world to incorporate Agile processes and become more efficient. He has written several books about Agile, including “An Executive’s Guide to Disciplined Agile (http://www.disciplinedagiledelivery.com/exec-guide-to-da/#GetIt).”

A critical success factor for business agility is for people to gain an agile mindset. Having an agile mindset is a great start, but people also need the skills and knowledge to work in an agile manner—not only do we need to “be agile” we also need to “do agile.” The agile community has found that the most effective way to help agile teams succeed is to enable them to own their process, to choose their way of working (WoW). But how can teams do that in practice when they might not even know what practices and strategies are available to experiment with? They’re going to need some guidance.

At this meetup Scott Ambler will briefly introduce us to Disciplined Agile (DA), a process decision framework that helps agile teams to choose their WoW. DA includes explicit support for Agile Marketing (and Sales, and Procurement, and Legal, and many other enterprise process areas) and more importantly does so in a context-sensitive manner.

We will work through an exercise where we identify the key process issues or decision points that an agile marketing team needs to address within an organization and potential practices/strategies that they may choose to adopt. The ultimate goal is to provide insight into how your agile marketing team can choose their WoW that reflects the situation that they face.<<
