Synopsis:
The model for communication most commonly used in our places of work can best be named "Command/Comply". Commands are issued from a senior person, and the rest of us do what we're told. This single factor may go a long way to explain why 60% of all employees are disengaged at work (see https://peakon.com/heartbeat/data/employee-engagement/).

It's an appalling situation, yet our current work practices are so deeply engrained that it is hard to see how do things differently. Even in many (so-called) Agile work places the same pattern shows up.

This session will explore how the product owner can be instrumental in breaking this pattern and forging new patterns within the scrum team and beyond.
