Abstract
According to the best DevOps deployment practices, responsibility - at least in non-production environments - should be moved from central architectural teams to each feature development team.
This is increasingly needed with microservices architectural patterns, where the significant escalation of deployment frequency might cause procedural bottlenecks that increase the cost and time of releasing business functionalities.

That’s why today we’d like to show you a new perspective where DevOps is “platform-based”.
This vision avoids a centralized DevOps team and promotes a platform supervised by the DevOps team: every team can independently release in production. In this way, it becomes easier to manage all the releases and scale the business without losing time-to-market.

The speakers

Giulio Roggero, CTO: IT engineer and entrepreneur with twenty years of experience in the software field. He attended the Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering at Politecnico di Milano University.
He has developed exceptional expertise in the design of IT platforms that enable companies to become digital natives. He is a point of reference for the Italian IT community: he brings his talks at major conferences and industry events.

Francesco Soncini Sessa, CCO: an experienced businessman with a great background in the IT, supply chain and services industry. Strong entrepreneurial mindset and high expertise in supply chain digital transformation. He attended the Master of Science in Computer Science at Politecnico di Milano University. After this experience, he enriched his expertise with an Executive MBA in Business Administration held by Bocconi SDA.
