Did you know that a 2019 study suggested that developers spend on average 23% of their time dealing with Technical Debt?

In this talk, Andy Spamer, who previously talked to us about Team Topologies, will share his thoughts on Technical Debt.

Specifically, we’ll look at:

  • Technical Debt - Why it is a great metaphor.
  • When and where to incur debt, and when to pay it back.
  • Classifying Technical debt.
  • Interest and Principle on technical debt.
  • You can’t manage what you don’t measure - Simple mechanisms to view technical debt.
  • Strategic view of Technical debt

He won’t guarantee you’ll gain 23%, but hopefully it will help you think differently about Technical Debt.
