[in-person OC] TDD Game

Details

Want to get a better understanding of Test Driven Development in an engaging, fun way?

But you may be afraid to dive into code in front of others?

Join us for a play-through of JitterTed's TDD Game.

This is a board game where the goal is to write code for new features and successfully commit the code. You can add features without unit tests but must make a saving throw against how risky that is. Once the codebase is too risky you'll need to refactor to reduce the risk level - the dreaded "we're afraid to make a change to the code!" Of course, you could also methodically add unit tests before adding new features with very little risk.

Which strategy do you think is going to result in the quickest feature release?

Don't worry if you're not a hands-on developer, no code will be written :)

To get an overview of the TDD game you can watch this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwnJh_TX7SI

Attendance count is low since only a few people can play the game at once. Feel free to join us if you want to hang out and catch up.

There will be several food vendors on-site, and you are welcome to bring outside food to this venue. Everywhere offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase.
