What we’re about
What are we trying to fix?
Do you think most meetups are a little slow and a lot of time is taken up with long speeches? Do you think there is a barrier to getting your teams experience in front of other people? Do you think you would like to speak in front of your peers but never have the chance or enough material? Want to try out some crazy theory or even some humour with a group of smart people?
Who might want to come along?
We are looking for enthusiastic change addicts to speak and try out new ideas, crack some Agile jokes or vent on recurring problems in bite sized 5 minute slots.
How this will run?
To avoid same old same old waffle and induced sleep, each event will be an "Open Mike" opportunity for people to speak for 5 minutes on any topic related ways of working. If you feel you want to speak on the spur of the moment you can if a slot is free.
Because you only have 5 mins the topics can include anything you wish from T shaped workers to anarchic or Data led decision making, remote working etc etc. Each slot will end on time with a limited Q&A sessionm.
There will be a chance to mingle at the end. If we get sponsorship there will be a prize for the most thought provoking speaker. We will follow this with an opportunity to mingle.
Warning:
You will be free to present in any way you wish but you will get 5 minutes including set up time, so don't bring that massive PowerPoint on a stick! Also if you speak we would prefer if you stay the end and mingle - it's just a courtesy thing.

•OnlineAgile Standup Night - online lightning talks
OnlineWe are holding an Agile Standup online event
This event gives people the opportunity to present and listen to short talks on the subject of agility. The Agile Standup was first held in 2019 as an in-person event, if there is demand, we can reinstate this. The online format will be loosely based on the Lean Coffee format: http://leancoffee.org
Whether you're a seasoned public speaker or trying it for the first time, it doesn't matter. Join us to put your ideas forward and listen to others.
Preparing a talk isn't mandatory, it's perfectly ok to come and listen and maybe ask some questions of the other attendees.
Standup Talks - As a speaker, the floor will be yours for 5 minutes, or less if you prefer - so prepare a topic and be ready to present it. You can present as just yourself, or share a slide deck, but if you do, please can you ensure that you have tested out the tech beforehand. Following each talk there will be an opportunity for a few minutes of Q&A.
Rather than give a talk, you could just ask a question as your topic and then we can discuss it together.
We will be using Google Meet for this event, so if you are planning to share your screen, beforehand stop other collaboration software such as Zoom and Teams from running and reboot your machine, they can cause problems as they compete for resources. The link is available through the Meetup website, once you have signed up to come.
Screen shots will be taken, please let the organisers know if you would prefer not to be featured in them.
Who might want to come along? We are looking for enthusiastic agilists to speak and try out new ideas, crack some Agile jokes, meet like minded people, rant on recurring problems or even read a poem on agility.
On the night - The event starts at 5:00pm, but if you'd like to arrive early to test out your technology, people will be there from 4:45pm. Typical problems which people have had have been getting your microphone and speakers to work, sharing a presentation and managing a two screen set up so Google Meet is on one screen and your slide deck is on the other.
When you arrive, if you'd like to speak, add your talk topic to the list, if you haven't done so already, by following the link below. We'll then vote on the topics to determine the running order. https://www.leancoffeetable.com/TaskBoard/View/011c21a4-eaa2-4228-8cf2-40396b1af417?guest=true
We aim to finish at around 6:30pm, but you are welcome to stay on and have a chat, if you like.
If we run out of presentations, we'll have a facilitated discussion, maybe going back on some of the points raised in the evening's talks. If we run out of time, you can propose your topic at the next event.
04:45pm Pre-start tech setup and early birds
05:00pm Official start - share your name and title of your talk
05:15pm Voting on topics and the talks commence
06:30pm Talks end
Looking forward to hearing what you have to say.4 attendees
