Digital transformation in high performing teams: A Case study- ACCA Zambia

Overview
For the Month of May, we will be hosting Janice Matwi, Country Head of ACCA Global in Zambia. She is responsible for leading and localizing delivery of the overall ACCA Global strategy in Zambia and is part of the ACCA Africa leadership team. She will be taking us through her experiences with digital transformation in high performing teams.

About the Speaker

Janice is a global business leader with experience in leading business transformation through innovation and consumer management.

She serves as a board trustee for PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools), a UK based social enterprise that educates disadvantaged children in quality secondary schools in Zambia and Uganda. She is also a board member of LendMePay Zambia, a local fintech company as well as an advisory board member for Jacaranda Hub, an ecosystem builder for young entrepreneurs.

Janice holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Essex Business Schoolin England among other qualifications, she has served in the; financial technology (FINTECH), pay television and telecommunications industries at senior management levels. Janice who has experience working in UK and Zambian markets.

She is an ardent advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and is dedicated to highlighting and eliminating systemic bias.
With a career spanning 18 years, Janice is an award winning business leader who received the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) award for Private Sector Champion for contributing positively to the development of financial technology sector in Zambia.

In 2020, she was a recipient of the Global ACCA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Award. She was awarded for having exhibited transformational leadership and undertaken many innovative efforts that included digital transformation of ACCA’s strategic ambitions in Zambia and which delivered value to the entire ACCA community and its partnership ecosystem. Janice emerged as the only African among 11 global winners from a total of 85 nominations made from across the 176 countries in which
ACCA operates.
