Agile West Midlands: The Product Puzzle!

Details

Agile West Midlands is back this month in Birmingham City Centre in conjunction with bjss.

We have a fantastic evening planned with a great talk from the bjss team around the product team and their roles within a business.

The talk:
We all know that a Product orientated delivery, together with all the lovely stuff that brings, is a great way to organise and structure the delivery teams.

But as there are more and more adopters of Product orientated delivery, we have many many different team structures and ideas about how to best deliver intended outcomes for the business in the efficient manner.
In this meetup, we will come together to explore this space, to get a handle on the type of people you need in order to succeed, and of course, what those disciplines should be focused upon.

Some of you will already think you know the answer! Great, you will be able to share that with everyone else as we go on a little journey together to really prod and poke at the Product Puzzle!

Here's a little bit about some of the team you will meet on the evening:
Andy Whyton, Business Analyst.
Started life as a software engineer but was found out and became a BA. Loves that early part of projects where you need to be "comfortably uncomfortable" and can get away with the stupid questions. Worked in a few places - I've found that all businesses are very different (but mostly the same).

Kylie Upton, Product Leader.
With a love for math I decided engineering was the role for me but very quickly discovered I liked talking to people too much and so moved into product with a slight deviance into design and then back into product. I love understanding the route of a problem and creatively discovering solutions that really solve this problem, for real people.

David Keene, Business Analyst.
Starting working as a BA on government digital exemplars, found a niche for asking the awkward questions there and never looked back. Entered the private sector and have been involved in many successful implementations of products... and some not so successful. Failure is the best teacher.

Gurmukh Bhurjee, Business Analyst.
Fell into the role of a BA in Financial Services and haven't looked back since. Have had the chance to work across different industries and met some great people along the way. Enjoy being able to have an overview of everything on a project, work with so many different people and be involved in so many pieces of work. Everyday is different, which keeps things interesting and keeps me on my toes.

Soniya Jakhu, Business Analyst and Capability Lead for BJSS Birmingham
Introduced to the world of Business Analysis through the Insurance and Financial Services sector delivering outcomes for organisations looking to reap the benefits of centralised data. Love the balance of technology consultancy as it always provides room for growth as well as highlighting that often the underlying root cause to a problem can be the same as ever.

Who will benefit from attending:

Whether you are a seasoned Agile practitioner or just starting your Agile journey, this event promises valuable takeaways for all. Network with like-minded professionals, share experiences, and ignite your team's potential in this dynamic Product landscape.
