Cadent's Agile Journey so far...

Details

Agile West Midlands is back this month in Coventry in conjunction with Cadent.
We have a fantastic evening planned with a great talk from the Cadent team around their agile journey so far and what they will focus on next. As well as some Pizza and networking.

The talk:
A quick Google for “Agile Transformation” provides some predictable results. Scratch the surface and there is a plethora of advice on tools, practices, templates for roadmaps etc. There is far less guidance on the people side of things, the phrase, “Here be dragons” comes to mind. The urban myth that medieval mapmakers put dragons on their maps for any areas they hadn’t yet discovered is actually only partially true. We’ll explain how we’ve taken practical steps to dispel the dragons from our map. Also, we’ll share our experiences from adopting certain approaches to transforming ourselves.

Here's a little bit about some of the team you will meet on the evening:

Roger Tindale, Head of Agile Practice
I’ve spent the past 30 years in IT, starting out as a Novell CNA, desktop hardware engineer and service desk analyst. Delivered Digital change projects and programmes for many years including working across UK & Europe as a global programme director for Atos with Siemens, Telefonica, UK Ministry of Justice. I’ve always been a “people person” and the values of the agile manifesto, scrum and SAFe resonated with me long before I moved into the role of Agile coach. I’ve been fortunate to work with several organisations on their agile journey including Emirates, Gucci and Jaguar Land Rover. A member of the Association of Coaching as well as a Scaled Agile Practice Consultant I carry with me a curiosity and a hunger to learn every day.

Rachel Heller, Release Train Engineer
I started my career in software development, progressing into project management across various industries. I have always been a part of an agile environment, however always within established agile organisations. Being a part of an organisation that is on its agile transformation has been challenging, yet rewarding all at the same time.
I have been at Cadent for the past 17 months, and what a journey those 17 months have been. The progress made in this time has been astounding. The motivation and passion to strive for a continuous learning culture empowers all team members to personally develop. As a certified Scaled Agile Release Train Engineer I love being a servant leader and coach to my ART to allow them to continually deliver value to the business each day. The journey isn't over but I'm excited to see where it goes!

Bernie Small, Agile Practice Capability Lead for Scrum Mastery
I've spent around 25 years in the IT Project Delivery world predominately as a project manager and been working at Cadent since its' inception in 2017. The Agile Transformation journey we are on has been challenging but also rewarding I am excited to see the progress we have made in the last 2 years. I love my job and the people I work with. As a certified Scaled Agile Practice Consultant I enjoy applying my new found knowledge every day and enabling the team to be successful.

Who will benefit from attending:
Whether you are a seasoned Agile practitioner or just starting your Agile journey, this event promises valuable takeaways for all. Network with like-minded professionals, share experiences, and ignite your team's potential in the lived experiences of adopting agile practices and behaviours.
