Please help us find sponsors for Startup Weekend

Hey all -

Budgets are super, super tight right now as I am sure you all know. They are so tight in fact that the $100-$250 sponsorship pledges I had lined up for Startup Weekend LA2 (since September and August) are backing out. We still have the minimum amount required to hold the event (thank you Microsoft)... but every little bit helps.

Blankspaces is the perfect location for a bunch of techies to move in for the weekend and throw a dev party and this could be a really great event... Especially since folks from out of town will be accommodated because their insurance allows them to stay open for the full 54 hours. Blankspaces is donating their venue, but unlike companies with staff and equipment, they are a coworking space so they have hard costs to hold an event (cleaning fees, staffing fees, etc.). The money we currently have goes to cover this and nothing else.

If you enjoyed Startup Weekend December 2007 and would like to have as good if not better a time this year, please help us find sponsors.

I'd love to get some $1000 platinum sponsors... It would help us have a few extras like tshirts (est $12 each) and give free tickets to unemployed folks so that they can network for gigs and maybe a few students... Scrum Club is all about mentorship.

Sponsor levels:

As it is we will have to sell tickets for $40 each to cover the costs of food. Even I have to buy a ticket and I've already chipped in money as a sponsor. If you can't donate money, here are a few things that you can bring that will help us reduce the cost of the event:

Butcher paper
Painter's tape
Post-it notes
Paper plates, forks, cups, napkins
Coffee maker (a really big one for an office)
Keg + tap
Trash cans and trash bags
Extra chairs

Thanks so much for taking the time to help if you can. Email me at [address removed] with any questions or offers for sponsorship.

- Amanda
