About the session

The Scrum Guide describes the responsibilities that a Product Owner has in Scrum, but it doesn't explain how. What things does a PO need to have in their toolbox in order to keep Stakeholders and the rest of the Scrum Team productive?

In the session we'll explore the things a successful Product Owner must have in order to survive sprint from sprint.

Amongst other things, we'll discuss:

  • The different types of Product Owners
  • Stakeholder management and how to do it
  • What metrics a Product Owner should keep and monitor
  • How does a Product Owner know if the team they're in are delivering value.
  • How can a Product Owner be part of a team, but yet have the pressures and accountability for deliver on their shoulders.

About Steve

Steve is an experienced Scrum Master and Professional Scrum Trainer with Scrum.org. Steve started his career as a developer, working for Nestle before moving on to work for Sky build applications & websites for many of the English Premier League football teams. Steve moved into senior positions all the time being exposed to Scrum, starting his journey into becoming a Professional Scrum Trainer.

Steve has worked in various teams (Scrum and non Scrum) so comes packed with real life stories. From Start Ups building the next social media network, up to large corporations handling thousands of transactions a second.

Working as a coach, Steve has worked in Finance, Leisure, Entertainment and Health sectors; helping numerous companies, from start-ups, small / medium to multi nationals to experience the value that Scrum can deliver.
