Meetup Overview and Benefits
Brian Milner from the cradle of Agile, Mountain Goat Software, will tell us about what is probably the only Agile transformation assessment your team and organization needs.

Through two decades of leading agile transitions, Mike Cohn, and Brian Milner along with their colleagues at Mountain Goat Software, have identified 20 key elements of successful agile transformations they call The Elements of Agile℠.

It is a free assessment tool that is applied to different dimensions of Agile transformation such as transition management, culture, collaboration, teamwork, and delivery. An improvement backlog emerges from the assessment. It is meant to be used to iteratively roll out and oversee transformational changes in the team and the organization.

The assessment sets itself apart from other maturity and group development models which tend to oversimplify the complex domain Agile is geared to operate in. So, we will not be reducing teams to patronizing ranks (1-5). But we will be hearing about a real-life approach to improvement and continuous improvement.

Speaker Bio
As the Senior Vice President of Agile Training and Coaching, Brian ensures that Mountain Goat Software has the absolute best training and coaching available. He’s passionate about making a difference in people’s day-to-day work, influenced by his own experience of transitioning to Scrum and seeing improvements in work-life balance, honesty, respect, and the quality of work.

Based in Dallas, he’s a Cowboys fan, and when he’s not spending time with his family or geeking out about Star Wars, you might just catch him sitting in with a local band for an evening of live music.

Fun fact: In his past life as a performer, he’s shared a stage with Hank Williams, Jr., Brenda Lee, and Pat Boone...though not all at the same time.
