Participatory Budgeting with Kevin Sonnier and Kim Lassiter

We've probably all worked on at least one project where the client had more demands and requirements that available budget or capacity. How do we handle this? How do we get everyone to understand what's achievable and to have realistic expectations?

For March's Meetup we're pleased to have Agile coaches, Kevin Sonnier and Kim Lassiter join us to tell us how.

Through a collaborative workshop, Kevin and Kim will be introducing us to a method called participatory budgeting that they use in their Agile coaching work with senior leaders and portfolios. It is a technique for establishing priorities useful at various levels in an organisational structure. Kevin calls it a powerful approach to almost any related situation.

During the workshop, they will present an overview of the concept, and then spend most of the time focusing on an interactive workshop where participants have the hands-on ability to put the theory into practice.

About our hosts for the evening

Kevin Sonnier has over 30 years in Enterprise-level coaching, business and IT programme and transformation management experience in global and large, complex organisations. Assignments have been in many sectors; Government/Defence/Aerospace, TELCO, Automotive, Retail, Mobile Apps, Digital, Education, HR/e-recruitment/e-Learning, and Financial/Banking.

Kim Lassiter is a Principal Agile Coach at Vodafone with over 20 years of experience of leading software development and IT delivery projects and programs. Solutions have included a wide range of wireless and cellular communication products, mobile applications and services, and fintech offerings..
Over the last 5 years Kim has transition into his current business transformation role, in which he is passionate about helping organizations realize the benefits of adopting lean agile principles and practices to optimize the flow of value delivered to customers.
