We've all been there. Something didn't go right. Something didn't go to plan. Something didn't go as expected. That dreaded "we need to figure out what happened" meeting is approaching. People are getting their fingers ready to point.
To capture business value in today’s world, leaders need to create effective environments for collaboration. They want to design work processes and climates for building responsibility, motivation, and resilience in the face of change. They may even call it “agile.” We know, when working with humans, that blaming rarely leads to accountability. Yet, too often, it’s become a habitual response in our organizations.
Join Diana Larsen, co-author of the book Lead without Blame: Building Resilient Learning Teams, as she explores new ideas for motivating teams, and team members. In this talk, we'll look at what blame in the workplace can really mean, the impacts of blaming, and better alternatives for accomplishing accountability and motivation. Diana will pose a few intriguing points to start the discussion…and you will discover new perspectives along the way. As time allows, we'll have a Q&A with Diana to explore your questions.
Also check out Diana’s upcoming workshop, “Strategic Agility Lab,” [https://www.nuagility.com/strategic-agility-lab] happening right here in Portland in October.
For those that requested a virtual option, the Zoom link is posted in the comments for the event.
