New technologies are disrupting everything. Work is happening faster than ever and quality is suffering. Everyone is focused on their own thing and we’re going in a hundred different directions!

Sound familiar? What responses have you seen to this reality? Are people falling back into what has been comfortable in the past - suggesting “stop the presses” manual reviews of work? Is your leadership requiring more documentation? More up-front planning?

We may be seeing a revival of the old “command and control” ways of working. Big up-front design, governance boards, and phase gate approvals coming back into vogue as a new cohort of workers encounter the challenges of too much work in progress, going too fast and breaking things, and managing dependencies across organizational silos.

As Agilists, how we can prepare for a resurgence of the old ways of working? What are the hard-won lessons that we don’t want to forget? What aspects of an Agile skillset (and mindset) are relevant today? Which ones aren’t?

The Agile PM Roundtable will convene a Lean Coffee to explore this theme. Lean Coffee puts you, the participant, in the driver’s seat to decide what we talk about and for how long. You’ll be able to contribute your ideas and learn from the ideas of others. Lean Coffee is unpredictable, surprising, and inspiring!

AgilePDX in conjunction with the Portland PMI chapter provides a forum for Agile Project Managers, Agile Facilitators, and Scrum Masters to gather online once a month and discuss all things project, program, and portfolio related. Please join us for a Lean Coffee style event facilitated by experienced Agile PM's and instructors in the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner prep program.

You'll be dialing in from your desktop with your favorite early morning brew. Please join with your camera on. The Zoom URL will be provided to confirmed attendees. Feel free to post questions to this meetup prior to the event.

We welcome divergent opinions and experience reports. Bring your challenges for groups feedback and support.
