Culture Baseline Workshop: Hands-On Practice for Organizational and Personal Growth
Organizational culture is critical in any transformation (Agile, DevOps, Agility, Digital and AI) because it directly influences business performance and employee engagement. Despite recognizing its importance, many leaders struggle to understand and effectively change their culture. In today's rapidly evolving landscape, fostering a healthy workplace culture is essential to navigate challenges such as widespread burnout and resource constraints. Success in 2025 and beyond requires actively shaping culture to align with strategic goals, rather than allowing it to develop passively.
Cultural transformation is challenging and often fails without sustained effort, clear direction, and buy-in at all levels. The complexity is heightened by the influence of senior leaders' personalities and behaviors, as well as the presence of multiple "microcultures" within an organization. However, a well-aligned and productive culture can significantly enhance employee engagement and retention, making it a key competitive advantage. Research shows that employees connected to their organization's culture are 4x more likely to be engaged and 6x more likely to recommend their workplace to others. Therefore, addressing cultural misalignment and fostering a cohesive culture is crucial for long-term success.

Workshop Overview:
- We cover the difference between organizational culture and organizational behaviors and cover why culture is so critical in a transformation (Agile, DevOps, Agility, Digital, AI)
- We will look at and review the Westrum’s Cultural Typology Assessment
- We will look at and review the Denison Culture Survey
- We will look at and review the Process Improvement Vision Organizational Transformation Assessment (PIVOT)
- We will cover tips and tricks for assessing your organization’s culture
- We will introduce you to a profile tool from Harvard that will allow you to determine your organization’s cultural profile. You will be using the profile tool in the workshop. You will be able to take this tool back to your organization and use it to start having conversations around your culture.
- We will also be providing a tool from Harvard that allows you to determine your own culture profile. You will be using the profile tool in the workshop. You will be able to take this tool back to your organization and use it to help you understand the culture of those around you.
- We will wrap up by covering why and how you can use these tools in your organization.
