What we're about
We're taking charge of the last third of our lives by learning together about how to design our own retirement/senior cohousing/ecovillages, with privacy plus community. We're building on our shared wisdom, going beyond 'aging in place' to build connections for Aging In Community, alternatives to loneliness or institutionalization, bringing in the experts so we don't waste our time. Join us in this quest for Audacious Aging, and help us help you design the last home you'll need, one that fits like a glove, not a boot, where you know your neighbors and live sustainably yet with all the privacy you need!

We welcome you to Phoenix Commons, our San Francisco Bay Area 55+ cohousing community. We look forward to meeting you from wherever you call home. Join this virtual Open House and get to meet several of our members. Come with all of your questions!
Our community lives in a modern, environmentally friendly building located in the vibrant Jingletown neighborhood of Oakland, CA and is situated along the beautiful Oakland Estuary. (The only US cohousing with an ocean-going dock!)
Many of our units come with sunset views over the San Francisco Bay. We currently have one available unit for sale.
Please enjoy watching this video of our indoor and outdoor living spaces:
