What we’re about

AI as Creative Partner — A Practice Group
An Ideation Space for Unassuming Intuitives & Practicing Creatives

This is a small, thoughtful practice group for people who feel a creative impulse but struggle to move from fragments to finished work.

We explore AI not as a productivity hack or content generator, but as a creative partner—a way to think out loud, surface direction, and gently shape ideas that don't yet have clear form.

Many people arrive with:

  • Half-formed ideas they can't quite articulate
  • A strong sense of taste but no clear starting point
  • Unfinished projects that faded without structure
  • Curiosity about AI, but discomfort with "prompt engineering" culture

This group is about slowing down, experimenting, and learning how to coax ideas into existence rather than force them.

HOW IT WORKS

I work on my own creative projects using AI as a thinking partner. You're welcome to work on your own project, watch the process, ask questions, or simply observe.

There's no presentation. No curriculum. No expectation to share your work.

These are working sessions, not workshops. You can arrive late, leave early, work quietly, or sit and watch. All of that is valid participation.

WHAT WE DO

  • Work with AI through conversation, iteration, and reflection
  • Practice turning fragments into Version 1.0 work
  • Share process, not performance
  • Build confidence through making—not talking about making

WHAT THIS IS NOT

  • A technical AI tutorial
  • A productivity or hustle group
  • A pitch night or critique panel
  • A place to outsource your thinking to machines

You don't need to be "good at AI." You don't need a finished idea. You do need curiosity, patience, and a willingness to try.

The group is facilitated and structured, but intentionally low-pressure. Observation is welcome. Participation is opt-in.

ABOUT SESSION LENGTH

The first session is 2 hours to allow for settling in and genuine working time. Subsequent sessions are scheduled for one hour, with room to extend as the group develops.

You're always welcome to arrive partway through or leave early. The goal is sustained practice, not perfect attendance.

ABOUT THE SCHEDULE

I've posted the first full cycle of all six lab formats so you can see the range of what we explore and choose what resonates.

These dates are set with intention but held with flexibility—if I need to adjust a session by a few days, I'll update RSVPs at least 48 hours in advance.

That said: I plan to be at The Writer's Center on the scheduled dates unless I've sent an update. This is a real commitment, not a maybe.

Events are currently posted through April 2nd. After the first cycle, we'll continue with the formats that resonated most, potentially adding new variations as the group develops.

LOCATION & FORMAT

Location: The Writer's Center, Bethesda
Format: Small, in-person gatherings
Commitment: Drop-in / Open

If you've been feeling the gap between what you want to create and what actually gets finished—this may be the right room.
