Introductory First Meeting

Join AI Asheville for Our First Meetup!
We’re excited to kick off AI Asheville with a vibrant first meeting on March 2, Sunday, 1-3pm at Gemilli Restaurant, 70 Westgate Pkwy, Asheville, NC 28806 .
Gemilli is next to EarthFare, ample parking and rarely busy.

Agenda for the First Meeting:

• Introductions & Networking: Meet fellow AI enthusiasts, share your backgrounds, and connect with like-minded individuals.
• Socializing: Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere to build a strong community.
• Discussion Topics: Explore what areas of AI interest our group members the most, including the significance of AI to society, advancements in AI algorithms, coding projects, and other AI applications.
• Planning Future Meetings: Decide on the frequency (monthly or bimonthly) and plan which meetings should be topical discussions/salons and which should be technical workshops. Technical workshops may involve a donated coworking space and a nominal fee (~$10).

About the Organizer: I’m a remote-working data scientist living near AVL and a former researcher/educator in computational neuroscience. I’m interested in building my AI skills, exploring local business opportunities, and discussing the societal impacts of AI.
As I’m new to the area, I’m eager to hear your suggestions for future meeting times and locations—so feel free to propose alternative times and locations online or in person on Sunday.
