Talk #1: The 8 AI Capabilities in the Automotive Industry

Abstract:
The amount of AI use cases are proliferating as we speak. Due to the novelty of AI, classifying these use cases is in itself a challenge. In AI Shepherds, we have defined 8 AI capabilities to better encapsulate the different AI use cases. This way clients can formulate easy to understand AI overviews and strategies. In this event, we are going to present over 20 AI automotive and mobility use cases classified by AI capability.

About Albert:
Albert Pujol is the founder and CEO of AI Shepherds. Albert is a seasoned mechanical engineer with and MBA and a master in data science. He has worked for most of his career in the automotive industry (at BMW among other companies). After 8 years working as a mechanical engineer, he decided to shift his career towards AI. After completing his master in data science, he founded AI Shepherds.

Talk #2: Used car recommendation engine with catboost

Abstract:
Have you ever wondered where the used cars in front of your local car dealership came from? Some of them were sourced on the online auction platform of 2trde. We at 2trde have built a “used car recommendation engine” to help our buyers to discover cars fitting their business needs in an efficient way. This talk is about the challenges we were facing while working with high-cardinality categorical features in an industry lacking naming standards, at a start-up with not-so-big internal data, and the solution we came up with.

About Zoltán:
Zoltan is a data scientist/engineer with masters in applied statistics and bank management. He was already building ML models when the cool kinds came up with the expression “data mining”. As a former job hopper he sold the same snake oil in the online gabling, retail banking, car insurance, loyalty marketing, social network and telco industries. He spent the last 3 years in the online car trading business building the infrastructure and the team behind 2trde’s data driven features from scratch.

PAID EVENT! Whaaat?
Yes, 6€. We want to gather as many people as possible to make sure that the exchange of perspectives and network is high.

The reason we want to charge is psychological. We humans do not value if something is free. In the last event, there were 120 registered and around 45 showed up. It is difficult to plan this way. The last thing we will ever do, is to throw away drinks and food.

We believe that 6€ is a symbolic price that people can afford. We also believe it is a good deal considering the included drinks, snacks, venue and speakers. We really hope you share our train of thought!
