AI-Python For a Kinder New York City

Details

Our in-person meetup will start with two presentations. Then, we'll dive into our networking session, giving you the opportunity to meet others, discuss projects and learn from their AI and career experience.

Pizza will be provided to all attendees, thanks to One for the World.

For the first presentation we will learn that there is much more to prompt engineering than RAG and fine-tuning the phrasing of prompts. Our first presenter, Harish Sista will give a story-based demonstration with examples on various prompt engineering techniques.

The second presentation will be given by Frank Fredericks, Executive Director of One for the World: an organization dedicated to scaling the effective giving movement to address extreme poverty. Frank will discuss the latest in cost-effective charitable giving through GiveWell and how small donations can collectively make a big impact on reducing extreme poverty.
Before joining One for the World, Frank was a Senior Entrepreneur at Accenture and led the Social Innovators Accelerator. He also founded a global nonprofit working to end religious violence and received his MBA from the Saïd Business School at Oxford University as a Global Sharper Scholar.

All of our monthly New York City meetups aim to connect, share resources and ideas, and discuss AI and Python projects that can make a positive impact in the world, but especially in New York City.

Continued discussions outside of the meetup framework is highly encouraged, so feel free to share your LinkedIn or social media handles when we meet.

You can also find ongoing community Python and AI projects on the Charming Data platform.
