🎤 About the talk 🎤
You write a clear prompt with a clear checklist. The model skips step 4, and when you point it out, it replies “You are absolutely right, I missed this.”
A prompt is a request, not a guarantee. The model will never be deterministic, but the process around it can be. This talk shows how to move control out of the prompt and into code, so every required step happens, every time.
What we’ll cover:
- Why LLMs skip steps, and why a better prompt isn’t the fix
- Splitting what the model decides from what the pipeline enforces
- Gates and validation: schemas, tests and builds as pass/fail checks
- Reviews that can’t be skipped or self-approved
- Handling failures and proving afterwards that every step ran
You’ll leave with practical patterns you can apply to your own agents and automations.
