Autonomous AI – how far can we go? A meetup on all things autonomous AI
Details
We've received a lot of requests from the AI on the Amstel community for a meetup on the current state of AI autonomy and AI agents. Autonomous AI developments are moving quickly, especially after the recent launches of OpenClaw and Remote Control from Claude Code.
We have an excellent panel lined up to discuss all things autonomous AI and how far we can go. Here is the panel for the April meetup:
- Surajeet Ghosh, Chief AI Officer @ Heineken. Surajeet is the global AI lead at Heineken, one of the largest companies in the Netherlands and the world's second-largest brewer
- Grigorii Kargin, Head of the Agentic Development Environment @ JetBrains. Grigorii leads the new agentic development environment initiative at JetBrains. Well known in the developer community, JetBrains is one of Amsterdam's most high-profile AI companies.
- Pranav Pathak, Product Director AI & ML @ Booking. Pranav leads data, ML, and AI products across Booking's online travel marketplace. Booking is the world's largest online travel agency.
This meetup will also be at a location that comes from a community suggestion! Several people suggested that we hold a meetup at one of Amsterdam's large public libraries. So we made it happen! This meetup will be at the Amsterdam public library's (OBA is the acronym in Dutch) big theater at their flagship location right next to Amsterdam Centraal station. We're at a very unique location this month!
For those that are new to this meetup, the AI on the Amstel meetup is a monthly technical meetup that features knowledgeable speakers discussing "in the weeds" AI topics and challenges. This meetup caters to engineers, product managers, and founders in AI.
There will be time for networking before and after the panel discussion. Doors open at 17:00. Since we get asked about this a lot, it's fine if you arrive late! We know work can be busy!
Finally, we wanted to share a message from OBA as a thank you for hosting us this month. OBA runs TUMO Amsterdam, a free after-school program for teens based at the Public Library of Amsterdam. Through hands-on projects in technology and design, from robotics to AI, young people develop the skills to understand, question, and shape the technologies defining their future. Libraries have always made reading accessible to all. AI literacy should be no different.
