Title: metaTextGrad: Automatically optimizing language model optimizers
Content: LLM-based optimizers like DSPy and TextGrad have proven effective at automatically improving prompts and other AI system components, but these optimizers are themselves human-designed and not tailored to specific tasks. The authors propose metaTextGrad, a meta-optimizer that enhances existing optimizers by making them better suited for particular tasks through two components: a meta prompt optimizer and a meta structure optimizer. This approach achieves up to 6% absolute performance improvement over baseline methods across multiple benchmarks.
