Meet the Speakers

  • Vassili Philippov, CEO & Co-Founder at Glite - "Predicting What Learners Don't Know: Winning BEA 2026 With an Agent Swarm"
  • Bio: For over 30 years, Vassilli has been driven by a simple question: how technology can improve learning. From early success in maths, science, and coding Olympiads, he went on to found and exit multiple tech companies and establish the Oxford Kaggle Club for applied machine learning enthusiasts.
    Today, he is Co-Founder and CEO of Glite Tech, using ML to personalise language learning. He also serves as Chairman of MEL Science (Inquisitive), expanding access to hands-on science education, and as a Trustee of We Solve Problems, promoting maths engagement in the UK in partnership with leading universities.
  • Zheng Yuan, Senior Lecturer in NLP at The University of Sheffield - Topic: AI Tools to AI Teammates: Educational Applications in the Generative AI Era
  • Bio: Dr. Zheng Yuan (https://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~zy249/) is an Associate Professor in Natural
    Language Processing at the University of Sheffield and an Affiliated Researcher at the Alan
    Turing Institute. Her research focuses on human-AI collaboration and the deployment of
    NLP and LLMs in real-world applications, particularly in education and language learning.
    She has held academic positions at King’s College London and the University of Cambridge,
    and previously served as VP of Data Science at Chatterbox Labs. Dr. Zheng Yuan is actively
    involved in the international NLP and AI in Education communities, serving in leadership
    roles across major conferences and initiatives. She holds a PhD and MPhil from the
    University of Cambridge and a BSc (Eng) from Queen Mary University of London.
