Most developers are using Claude Code like a fancier autocomplete and leaving most of its value on the table. This hands-on session is about using it the way working engineers actually ship with it: planning, editing across files, testing, and debugging, with you staying in control of quality and architecture the whole way.
We will go from a blank terminal to a real feature, built and tested live, so you leave with a workflow you can use the next morning. No slideware marathon, no "AI will replace you" talk. Just practical, repeatable patterns.
Who this is for Working software engineers, tech leads, and startup teams who already write code and want to get genuinely faster with Claude Code. Beginner to intermediate on the tool is perfect. You do not need prior AI experience, but you should be comfortable writing code.
Agenda

  • Why AI-native development is different, and where Claude Code fits in your day
  • Setup and your first real task in the terminal
  • Live build: take a feature from idea to working, tested code end to end
  • Prompting and planning patterns that work, and the ones that waste your time
  • Using project context (CLAUDE.md), keeping a human in the loop, and protecting code quality
  • Common failure modes and how to recover from them
  • Open Q and A

What to bring A laptop with your editor set up, and ideally one small real problem from your own work. The more concrete it is, the more you will get out of the live build.
