Hey everyone,
We're excited to kick off the AI Security Engineers Community with our first event in collaboration with the amazing Hack Miami community!

Join us on Saturday, June 13, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM EDT at:
📍 Broward County Main Library
100 S Andrews Ave
Fort Lauderdale, FL

We'll be hosting Brian Clark, Staff Developer Advocate at Snyk, for a session on building more effective AI-powered developer workflows.

Talk Title:
Four Extension Points, One Mental Model: Rules, Skills, Hooks, and MCP in Practice
What you'll learn:
AI coding tools have four extension points: Rules, Skills, Hooks, and MCP. Most engineers are only using one of them, which is why their setups can feel more like an autocomplete than agentic. In this session we'll unpack each layer, anchor them to a single mental model (probabilistic vs. deterministic), and work through a four-question framework you can use to decide which extension point fits any given task. We'll close with an example production stack and the most common configuration mistake, so you can walk out and ship a better setup the same day.

Whether you're experimenting with AI coding assistants, building agentic workflows, or just curious about where developer tooling is headed, this session is for you.

Speaker: Brian Clark - Staff Developer Advocate at Snyk
Brian is a developer advocate and security specialist focused on equipping developers with best practices for secure application development. His content offers expert guidance on topics such as securing npm packages, protecting applications from critical vulnerabilities like CVE-2023-4863 in WebP, and managing risks in API security. Through his videos, Brian delves into security implications of popular developer tools, AI-powered coding, and VS Code extension security. His practical, hands-on advice makes him a trusted resource for developers aiming to enhance their security expertise in modern software environments.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there and launching the Miami AI Security Engineers community together!
