6. AI Systems Tübingen Meetup: Hardware for AI

Details

We are happy to announce the 6th AI Systems Tübingen Meetup hosted by the University of Tübingen and IBM Research & Development. The topic of the meetup is "Hardware for AI". This time, we prepared three interesting talks for you:

  1. UltraTrail: Scalable Low-power Hardware Accelerators for Neural Networks (Adrian Frischknecht, University of Tübingen):
Near sensor systems often have limited resources where standard hardware cannot meet the requirements and fixed hardware is not flexible enough.
UltraTrail provides a solution as a configurable and low-power hardware accelerator for 1D convolutional neural networks.
In conjunction with a hardware/software co-design approach, power consumption can be greatly reduced.
  2. Microprocessor development for AI workloads (Bruno Spruth, VP Power Processor Development, IBM):
This talk will provide insights into the microprocessor development in the midst of evolving applications like AI/ML and technological challenges.
  3. Enterprise-AI (Cedric Lichtenau, STSM and Hardware Architect, IBM):
This talk will provide insights into the application of AI in enterprise systems beyond image recognition, and shed some light on the resulting considerations for the development of hardware-accelerated solutions in IBM systems.

Currently, we are trying to make this a hybrid (Face2Face and Online) event - stay tuned.

We are looking forward to seeing you at this Meetup!
