The future of Art

Dear Futurists,

We are at the beginning of the biggest efflorescence in art the world has ever seen. Why? Photography destroyed portraiture when it was invented. Cameras could make portraits better and cheaper. But that destruction led to an explosion of creativity - people began to paint what was inside them - and this gave us Picasso and Andy Warhol.

Artificial Intelligence is set to destroy ALL art as it learns to mimic it so well that it is indistinguishable from art created by humans. Will this create an explosion of creativity as humans find new ways to express themselves? Or will it kill art?

We'll explore these questions and more with our friend Jonathan, who will open the session with an introduction.
