Databricks for AI Projects: From Data to a Working Application

Join us for a practical introduction to building AI projects with Databricks.

This beginner-friendly workshop will introduce participants to the Databricks workspace and demonstrate how to build a simple Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflow using a single document. We will explore how documents are loaded, divided into chunks, converted into embeddings, retrieved based on a question, and passed to a language model to generate a grounded response.

The session is designed to provide a clear understanding of how Databricks supports the journey from raw data to a functional AI application—without overwhelming participants with SQL, data engineering, advanced deployment, or the wider platform.

By the end of the workshop, participants will understand the core RAG pipeline and have a practical foundation for developing more advanced AI applications using Databricks.
