Make work less boring
This is your chance to show the world what “different” could look like when it comes to business. Use IBM Granite models and build a proof-of-concept, AI-driven solution that brings creativity into how businesses operate. Whether it’s generating new ideas, designing creative content, predicting innovation or market trends, enhancing brainstorming processes, or nurturing creative strategy, you’ll identify an activity that can be improved and build a solution that can empower businesses to innovate faster and more creatively. -
Decent work and economic growth challenge, brought to you by Call for Code
Economic growth and decent work can be a positive force for the whole planet. We’re calling on you to build a proof-of-concept, AI-driven solution using IBM Granite models that can address an issue that falls under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Call for Code®
Started in 2018, Call for Code is the largest tech-for-good initiative of its kind that brings together developers and problem-solvers from around the world to create solutions to help solve some of the most pressing societal issues of our time.
#### Step 1: Register
Sign up with your existing IBMid that uses your corporate or university email address or create one with your personal email to get access to the hackathon web site.
#### Step 2: Get ready ahead of the hackathon
Take advantage of free IBM Granite and watsonx education on the hackathon web site. You can also post your skills and search for other participants through the site to form a team. As the hackathon approaches, watch your email for critical updates and information. Access to watsonx will be provided by IBM when the challenge starts on April 24.
#### Step 3: Build with IBM Granite and win prizes
When the hackathon starts, you’ll get detailed instructions to build and submit your project for a chance to win! Those who submit a qualifying project may also be eligible to earn a badge from IBM TechXchange 2025.

First place team, per theme
- $5,000 USD
- $500 USD IBM Cloud credits, per team member
- 1 ticket per team member to IBM TechXchange Conference 2025 in Orlando (Tickets are subject to legal pre-approval, are non-transferable, and travel/lodging is not included)
Additionally, the team that wins first place for the Call for Code theme will be eligible to be judged for the 2025 Call for Code Global Challenge, where the top team will take home $50,000 USD.

Abstract
Imagine being able to ask questions about a website in natural language—and receiving meaningful answers instead of simple keyword matches. In this talk, I’ll introduce Allycat, an open-source, end-to-end stack that enables conversational interaction with website content using Large Language Models (LLMs).We’ll walk through the complete pipeline:
- Crawling and indexing website content
- Cleaning and extracting meaningful information from HTML
- Creating embeddings and storing them in a vector database
- Querying the data using an LLM for contextual, accurate responses
We’ll also demonstrate Allycat’s lightweight UI that allows users to interactively test their queries. The entire stack is built with Python and open-source components, making it easy to adopt, adapt, and extend.

IBM recently released GneissWeb, a large dataset yielding around 10 trillion tokens that caters to the data quality and quantity requirements of training Large Language Models. In this talk i will do a deep dive on the philosophy behind this dataset, where it stands w.r.t the other datasets out there, how to recreate it based on the tools IBM has open sourced and some performance figures with it. This talk will be a followup of the talk given by Shahrokh Daijavad of IBM in the month of March.Prerequisites
