Mathematics 2: Calculus

Session info

Welcome to the second mathematics session for the AI42 series where we will be taking the next step from understanding basic algebra to exploring your data further using methods of calculus! Calculus is extensively used behind the scenes in many places within data science and AI. In this second session we will be diving into calculus including topics of minima and maxima as well as derivatives and integrals. Through these topics you will be able to understand methods of data science such as gradient descent that will allow for optimization of an algorithm.

About the speaker

Heini is a math teacher turned Azure expert. With a background in mathematics and teaching, she has a great passion for problem solving, simplifying complex things and a unique approach to architectures. She is a DevOps consultant at Polar Squad, specializing in Azure infrastructure and the data platform. She has been working with customers large and small for the past several years to help them sort out their path to the cloud and make sense of their architecture - both hybrid and cloud. Heini is a Microsoft Certified Trainer and an Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
