AI development has continued to accelerate in 2026, bringing us closer to the threshold of AGI. The pace of progress is now so fast that an annual review is no longer enough. We may need to step back every quarter to understand what has changed, where the frontier is moving, and what could come next.

In this talk, I’ll review the most important developments from January through the end of September and examine how rapidly the AI landscape has changed. More specifically, I’ll cover:

  • Breakthroughs in foundation models
  • Enterprise agents and the accelerating adoption of AI
  • AI moving into the physical world through robotics and autonomous systems
  • The rise of personal AI agents, such as Grok bot and Muse
  • The rapid progress of AI-generated movies and entertainment

Finally, we’ll look at what these advances mean for people and society. AI is already beginning to reshape white-collar work and entire professions. We’ll also examine the growing challenges around AI safety.

The goal is to leave with a clear picture of just how dramatically AI has changed in 2026—and where the next stage of this transformation may lead.
