Deploying Successful Advanced Analytics Applications

This presentation is open for members and non-members, faculty, staff, and students.

ABSTRACT
Deploying successful advanced analytics applications requires a combination of people, process, and tools all working together. This presentation will cover both technical and non-technical tips for implementing and deploying advanced analytics projects. Practical examples of people, data, modeling, and deployment issues that determine the success or failure of a solution will be discussed using real-world examples across several techniques and application areas.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Michael Magent is an Advanced Analytics Manager on the Data and Analytics Team at Air Products. In this role, Mike works with business partners to apply and adopt advanced analytics solutions at Air Products. During his 25 year career at Air Products, Mike has worked on machine learning, natural language processing, vehicle scheduling, production planning and scheduling, sales & operations planning, and several supply chain simulations. He also served as the Air Products Operations Research Roundtable chairman.

In addition to his work at Air Products, Mike has been an Adjunct Professor in the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at Lehigh University. He developed and taught Applied Data Mining and taught Deterministic Models in Operations Research, Advanced Operations Research, and Supply Chain Management. Mike holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University as well as M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Lehigh University.
