ABSTRACT & ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Megan Augustine is the Director of the Network Simulation Center and 3d Print Innovation Lab for St. Luke’s University Health Network, located in Bethlehem PA.

Megan oversees the planning, implantation, and evaluation of simulation-based and skill based educational programs for medical students, nursing students, residents, physicians, nursing staff, and pre-hospital professionals.

Megan has over 10 years of experience working in simulation in a variety of settings. Prior to St. Luke’s, Megan has had the opportunity to travel throughout the US and Canada implementing simulation centers in hospitals, medical schools and nursing schools.

Megan also oversees the 3d Print & Innovation Lab which is dedicated to improving the quality of care and patient safety through innovation, research and design.

Since 2017 Megan and her team have saved the Network over $175k creating and developing customized task trainers, anatomical models for simulation education as well as educational tools, prototypes and miscellaneous medical devices.

Inside the 3d Print and Innovation Lab, is the “Cauldron.” A collaborative “think tank” that Megan created where health care workers, faculty, students, and entrepreneurs come together to make a difference in health care and medicine. The diversity of thoughts, ideas, and experiences that each person brings results in innovative brainstorming and group problem-solving.

The Cauldron's mission is to collaborate and share ideas, insights and experiences to help drive and transform health care to new levels, across in-patient and out-patient worlds, as well as our underserved patient communities.

Our goal is to advocate, elevate and empower YOU to design, discover, translate ideas to into a reality.
