Tech Talk 1: Real Time Recommendations with Vector Search
Speaker: Aaron Ploetz @Datastax
Abstract: Are you building or do you support an e-commerce website? If so, then this session is for you! Worldwide digital sales in 2021 eclipsed five trillion dollars (USD). Most consumers will leave a web page or a mobile app if it takes longer than a few seconds to load. Businesses that want to compete, need a high performing e-commerce website. In this session, we will cover how to architect a simple and high-performing product recommendation service using Vector Search and generative AI. Join us and learn how to leverage the following tech to your advantage: Java Spring Boot - OAuth - Distributed databases (Cassandra/AstraDB) - Vector Search - Cloud Native Streaming (Pulsar)

Tech Talk 2: Quick wins of LLM in Healthcare
Speaker: Qi Li @InterSystems
Abstract: Although LLM holds a lot of promises, many organizations remain skeptical for clinical applications. Dr. Qi Li from InterSystems will describe two use cases from the customers that can deliver quick wins using LLM. The first use case is patient portal message triage for contact center operation. The second use case is clinical research query construction for clinicians and researchers.

Tech Talk 3: Beyond Q&A: Using LLM’s for real-time, personalized notifications
Speaker: Ryan Michael, VP of Engineering @Kaskada
Abstract: What we learned building BeepGPT: An AI bot that reads your Slack so you don’t have to. Are you tired of seeing Gen AI demos of yet another chat bot? Are you looking for the interesting applications of this technology that’s supposed to change everything? Generative AI can do more than answer questions - it can understand what’s happening in the world in real-time, and use that understanding to creatively make our lives better. But to do so, Generative AI apps need access to real-time information, which has traditionally been difficult to deal with. Connecting AI to real-time data is the problem that the OSS Kakada project (which, in full disclosure, I co-created) aims to solve. To demonstrate how the right tools make this type of application easy, we built BeepGPT - an AI bot that reads your Slack so you don’t have to. In this presentation we’ll walk you through our process and share some of the lessons we learned along the way.
